Job Description:

Are you looking for an engineering internship with a chance to work with multiple disciplines and global sites? Do you want to learn about product development, build prototypes, test production samples and analyze test results?

CTS has an opening, beginning in May 2023, for two Engineering Interns at any grade level, working with the mechatronics engineering team. CTS makes electronic rotary actuators for global OEM and Tier 1 automotive customers including Cummins, DAF-PACCAR, Scania and many other vehicle manufacturers.

You will work with product design, product development, project management, quality and test systems engineering functions. You will have the opportunity to review design decisions, complete complex problem solving exercises, support 3D CAD design and development, and test prototype samples. You will work with the local team in Elkhart, in addition to supporting CTS teams in Chicago, China and Mexico via email and TEAMs meetings.

The job is primarily on-site, and hours are flexible during the school year, if applicable, typically with 15+ hours per week. Year round work is not a requirement for selection, but is helpful. During the summer, CTS offers 40 hours per week with standard working hours, a competitive salary and flexibility for time off.
Based on performance, there is the opportunity to return to work at CTS over multiple summers or sessions. As a member of the team, depending on previous experience you will start the internship learning engineering basics, and finish your internship(s) with the ability to manage full projects.
