The Opportunity

Our growing editorial team is looking for a talented Senior Editor, Manufacturing to help us report on best practices and innovations at the intersection of engineering and manufacturing. You'll create engaging and informative content, and help our freelance writers do the same. Reporting to the Chief Content Officer, this 12-month contract position (maternity leave cover) has the potential to become permanent.

Primary Responsibilities

>> Conceive, assign and edit news and feature stories written by staff and freelance writers.
>> Write news and feature stories.
>> Ensure high quality, timely editorial output in 2-3 subject-matter verticals (beats).
>> Collaborate with colleagues to expand and improve engineering.com's content offering.
Primary Qualifications

>> Demonstrated ability to research and write stories for a professional audience.
>> Effective communication and coaching skills that help you deliver valued guidance and feedback to writers.
>> Imagination and creativity that allow you to generate interesting story ideas and tell old stories in new ways.
>> Organizational and project-management skills that keep your projects on target and on time.
>> At least five years of journalism experience, including at least one in year covering manufacturing, engineering or another technical trade.
