About You

 

This individual will develop new methods, techniques and improvements for all areas of production, including assembly, vibration welding, subassembly and polymers. They will conduct basic and advanced assembly engineering assignments for the production facility, including but not limited to the usage and deployment of Poka Yoke, smart tools, vision systems and advanced production verb agreement assembly error proofing, solve manufacturing problems, tooling designs, assembly machine designs and improvements. This individual will improve the efficiency of assembly operations by studying generally accepted engineering methods and reporting on findings regarding assembly and subsequent production operations.

 

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Researches and designs new methodologies and techniques to improve quality of product, error proofing, speed of production lines and cost-effectiveness of production methods.
  • Recommends and implements methods, techniques and technologies to reduce downtime, and improve quality.
  • Improves completed products and assures they are assembled correctly and meet set standards of quality within set task times.
  • Provides sound engineering practices to solve problems and complete assigned tasks thoroughly within required timelines.
  • Documents all study findings and develops systems to track and record process changes.
  • Performs testing and critical evaluation of all finished product for engineering changes.
  • Makes and implements recommended changes based on evaluations and findings.
  • Creates engineering designs and builds or modifies equipment based on such designs.
  • Tests and debugs; follows through on designs, assemblies, process improvements and error proofing equipment as a result.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves assembly and subsequent operations manufacturing methods.
  • Plans, schedules, and conducts tests and analyses on samples of completed parts.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Manages multiple engineering projects simultaneously with limited supervision within defined timelines.
  • Provides 24-hour emergency engineering support via on-call or on-site assistance as required.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design to ensure efficient production methods.

Specifications

  • 4 year college degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or related discipline.
  • 7 to 10 years of related experience.
