Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs complex tasks required to design, repair and modify new or existing equipment.  Evaluates, develops and tests equipment functionality for desired assembly or test purposes.
  • Uses advanced knowledge of various industrial programing software platforms to commission, develop, implement and repair systems such as Siemens PLC & HMI, Fanuc robotics, Festo servos, Safety PLC systems, Vision systems, DC drivers and leak testers. Updates, backs-up and restores software as needed.
  • Examines machine components to detect imperfections.  Inspects questionable components to determine changes in dimensional requirements as shown on drawings, blueprints and/or documentation.
  • Adjusts and/or install special functional parts of machines, devices and control instruments.  Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Acts in a supervisory role with lower level technicians, setting priorities and providing training.
  • May work in collaboration with local and international engineering teams.
  • Provide project cost and time line analysis in detailed written format, tracks project costs and timelines.
  • Completes work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 9000, forklift training, and other safety training courses as needed.
  • Suggests and implements equipment improvements to increase operational efficiency.
  • Must be available for emergency service during off hours.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Specifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years related experience.
  • Maintains appropriate level of technical and professional skills by attending training classes, seminars, exhibits, and tradeshows as needed.
  • All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, maintenance and equipment design and integration. 
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic blueprints, drawings, and documentation.
  • Advanced training in PLC/HMI, motion control and robots, able to program in S7 Graph, LAD and CSF.
