COXREELS® manufactures heavy duty professional grade hose, cord, and cable reels of the highest quality. Our comprehensive selection of reels includes spring retractable, hand crank and motorized hose, cord, and cable reels. We are a worldwide leader in the reel industry and have been serving customers in residential, commercial, and industrial settings since 1923. Our engineering capabilities and manufacturing processes allow us to design and build top quality products for any conceivable application where reels are needed. We manufacture in Tempe, AZ from flat sheet steel and process in-house through assembly. Our manufacturing plant is world class, clean and continuously improving.

We are looking for a new member of our engineering team who is looking for a stable and productive work environment, with emphasis on long term employment. The role is primarily manufacturing engineering with a focus on quality management. The position is responsible for the execution of the quality management system via small team of technicians and inspectors, issue resolution, and manufacturing improvements. The ideal candidate possesses both a high level of technical expertise in the field of quality assurance in a manufacturing environment and team leadership experience. The position requires someone who is self-motivated and capable of prioritizing the needs of internal quality and external customer quality related management. The successful applicant will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the quality management system of Coxreels.

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide management and leadership for overall quality system and drive the future development thereof.
  • Supervise a team of quality assurance inspectors and technicians.
  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
  • Measure, record, and report all activities to meet quality assurance objectives using visual management tools.
  • Resolve manufacturing and production issues, recommend optimum manufacturing processes, training, and techniques.
  • Provide consistent product evaluation, coordinate, and manage all testing, compliance and certification programs.
  • Provide and oversee inspection activity for products throughout production cycle.
  • Control all manufacturing process and assembly procedure documentation.
  • Interpret quality assurance philosophy to key personnel within company.
Qualifications, Abilities, & Experience Needed
  • Thorough knowledge of quality assurance principles, and practical application of them, with the ability to make leadership decisions based upon them.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in the quality field with 5 years of general quality field experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Required abilities include interpretation of mechanical drawing, inspection and measurement of physical components, investigatory process development, along with typical engineering related MS office skills.
  • Cooperative manufacturing related communication skills are required in both office and production areas, and professional behavior with coworkers, vendors, and customers is expected.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering. (Equivalent experience will be considered.)
  • Physical ability to function and perform duties in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good attitude and resilient personality equipped to deal with typical production and relationship challenges found in manufacturing environments.

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to lighting and temperature as required for the office and manufacturing areas. Appropriate safety equipment is required by area. There is potential exposure to different hazards. A considerable amount of moving from department to department may occur in unfavorable weather conditions. The employee is exposed to the inherent dangers of the materials used in Coxreels manufacturing processes.
