In order to consolidate our business and continue our successful journey we are currently looking for a Facilities Supervisor.

Responsible for supervising one or more UL Facilities operational teams at our UK centre of excellence in Basingstoke. Receives predetermined work assignments with specific instructions for maintenance and repair functions and day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repair generally performed with inhouse staff or contractors. Prepares work schedules for subordinates, approves vacation schedules, and reviews budget requests. Advises and trains assigned subordinates. Assists and supports the Facilities Operations Manager with Basingstoke and other UK site compliance as required.

The Role

  • Responsible for supervising facility operations functions within assigned sections, such as, PPM's on all building services, maintenance of grounds, security, reception, shipping/receiving, space-planning design, hazardous material handling and safety programs in compliance with UK and local business regulations. 
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Advises and trains subordinates on maintenance, operation and repair of machines, equipment or tools including test equipment.
  • Prepares work schedules for subordinates, approves vacation schedules, reviews budget requests, purchase requests and cost quotations.
  • Manages the performance of direct reports by defining goals, accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.
  • Undertakes or supervises special projects as directed.
  • Organises and supervises contractors with the Facilities team while onsite
  • Participates in emergency call out (Fire alarm & intruder alarm)

The Person

  • Champions a safety culture
  • Experienced in a similar Facilities Supervisor role with demonstrable knowledge
  • Ideally Electrical & Mechanical Bias or demonstrable knowledge from previous role
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Experience in front line management
  • Experience in managing/supervising contractors
  • Experience reviewing RAMS, PLI & PTW systems
  • Knowledge of building legislation desirable but not essential.
  • Experience sourcing, reviewing, and implementing utility & service contracts.

Higher Secondary Education (Equivalent to High School Diploma) and related experience which includes Level 3 managerial experience.
