Job Description:

Enercon Industries Corporation seeks an experienced Director of Quality and Continuous Improvement to join their team in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. Enercon is expanding and expects to finalize a new headquarter facility in Germantown, Wisconsin by the end of 2023. During this phase, time will be spent between both Menomonee Falls and Germantown.

This position is responsible for defining and implementing quality and continuous improvement across the organization. The successful candidate will assess the current state and then develop and execute multi-year plans to institutionalize a quality and continuous improvement culture company-wide. Strong change management and facilitation skills are required as you will engage with all levels of the organization to develop the necessary cultural shift to improve the business. The ideal candidate has a passion for getting into the details where appropriate to make effective decisions and drive results, but also recognizes when to delegate, or simply act and avoid analysis paralysis. This role will begin their journey as “player-coach” while also being responsible for creating the necessary supporting organization.  If you embody keen skills in coaching, developing, and mentoring others across an organization, this may be a perfect fit for you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

  • Define, develop, and, implement a quality management strategy, policies and procedures across the organization while ensuring compliance to quality system requirements.
  • Manage internal and external quality metrics, root cause analysis, and CAPA activities to track quality costs and drive reductions in poor quality.
  • Implement essential practices such as DMAIC, FMEA, Control Planning, Receiving Inspection, PPAP, Process Monitoring & Reporting, etc.
  • Standardize, lead and support lean strategies, best practices, 6S development and deployment across manufacturing and office areas.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to address/resolve/improve quality issues and improve on-time delivery.
  • Provide guidance and direction on internal quality inspection and key quality metrics.
  • Develop and lead the continuous improvement roadmap and initiatives across the organization including the creation and leadership of a cross-functional governance team.
  • Consult and advise leadership on process and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Develop process certification standards and develop process and external resources to achieve compliance with or external certifications and recognition (ISO-9001, etc.).
  • Develop standardized training and tools to be used across the organization to ensure consistent training and application of continuous improvement activities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relatable engineering or manufacturing discipline preferred; Green or Black Belt certification or an advanced degree is highly valued.
  • 10 years’ industry experience developing, operating within, and managing quality management systems and processes preferred.
  • Experience in industrial products or capital equipment manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to build strong and positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize effectively, and execute successfully in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • An effective and persuasive communicator with great team presence that embodies strong leadership, motivation, and team/staff development skills.
  • Proven track record leading quality and lean/CI initiatives with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, sales, and customers. Demonstrated experience developing people and processes, improving supplier quality, reducing costs, enhancing production process efficiency, and sponsoring cross functional collaboration.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably Epicor, including data analytics within quality, manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain functions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to concisely document and effectively communicate both internally and externally.
  • Big picture thinker, strategic, but able to distill functions and business interactions into tactical/detailed process and workflows in order to drive improvements and efficiency gains.
