Job/Position Summary
The Photolithography Process Engineer reports directly to the MFG Engineering Manager and supports the Piezoelectric Sense and Move products business. In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer makes technical decisions and provides technical direction to their team.
 
Major Areas of Responsibility
  • Lead and direct the monitoring and troubleshooting of manufacturing processes to maintain and improve upon product yield.  Use an array of tools (DOE, DMAIC) and general statistical analysis methods to drive improvements
  • Makes recommendations, plans and implements lean processes and products that result in improved manufacturing capabilities, efficiencies, yield, and quality
  • Provides recommendations for maintaining, diagnosing equipment inefficiencies, and upgrades to existing tools and equipment or acquisition of new ones as needed
  • Works closely with new product introduction team to efficiently and cost effectively introduce new products into manufacturing
  • Provides technical development support to technicians, engineers, and operators
  • Periodically reports progress and status on projects and processes to management in an oral and written manner
  • Interfaces with suppliers, and customers; Limited travel may be required
  • Uses technical knowledge and ingenuity to resolve complex problems and provides technical leadership for their area of responsibility
 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing
  • Ability to analyze and identify problems, develop appropriate solutions and implement with available resources to complete complex assignments
  • Ability to proactively develop new ideas/methodologies
  • Ability to interact with other professional staff throughout the organization
 
Required Education and Experience
  • BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical, Physics or Associate Degree with relevant experience is required
  • 1 year of experience in photolithography (spray / spin coating), exposure processes is required
  • Experience with metal deposition (sputtering) or wet bench etching is a plus
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in manufacturing in a clean room environment is a plus
 
Physical/Working Requirements:
  • Be able to lift up to 25Ibs
  • Required to use measuring or other analytical tools requiring good near vision
  • Usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels and use of chemicals
