Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agenciesall over the world.

The Construction Inspector III will perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials, and all issues concerning the construction of the project. You will be responsible for providing construction supervision and quality control inspections to assure compliance with plans, specifications, and standards of the work. You will also handle documentation of construction progress, quality control tests, and inspections and track the resolution of all quality issues.   

The work assignment is located in Utuado, Puerto Rico, this is for a three-year project, contingent upon the award of the Task Order. 

Key responsibilities:  

  • Determine the acceptability of the day-to-day work performed by the contractor 
  • Review and recommend accepting or rejecting daily reports submitted by the contractor 
  • Verify that procedures are in conformance with the approved Quality Control Plan and established procedures, review material submittals, and testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract and update the project material register 
  • Measure, and records quantities of materials placed, perform takeoffs to determine conformance with required quantity amounts 
  • Assist with the finalization of quantities for the monthly progress estimate 
  • Maintain the daily project diary, complete Inspector Daily Reports (IDR), and other forms as required 
  • Coordinate and schedule the efforts of others and must be proficient on the internet, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Primavera or other scheduling software 

Qualifications To be successful in the role:  

  • Seven years’ experience as a construction inspector, superintendent, or quality control engineer on construction projects.   
  • Possess basic familiarity with related engineering fields including mechanical, architectural, civil, electrical, and structural 
  • Familiarity with handling RFI, change orders, submittals logs, etc. Also, field knowledge of safety, scheduling, and cost control are essential skills 
  • Experience working with EFLHD FP-14 and/or PRHTA standards and specifications is preferred 
  • Knowledge of management and analysis techniques to identify, consider, and resolve issues or problems 
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and Adobe Acrobat 
  • Must be proficient in Primavera or other scheduling softwares 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.  
  • Can speak, read and write Spanish preferred 
  • Current OSHA 30-hour training certificate desired
