The WI Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) is seeking two interested and qualified individuals to fill two Civil Engineer Transportation Advanced vacancies in the North Central Region. The first position is a Project Development Section Project Manager, the second is a Regional Storm Water and Erosion Control Engineer.

These full-time positions can be headquartered in Wisconsin Rapids or Rhinelander.

Position Summary

Project Development Section Project Manager

This position functions as a Civil Engineer within the Project Development Section of the North Central Region performing the highest degree of independent discretion and judgment on transportation improvement projects in both the construction and design phases.  The position acts as a Project Manager in the design and construction of transportation improvement projects, conducting activities related to scoping, developing, monitoring, and reporting project schedules, budgets, issues and resources.  The Project Manager has primary responsibility for overall project quality. This position manages activities on multiple projects, including those of a highly complex nature for continuity in both design and construction phases.  This position serves as a resource and advisor to the supervisors and project leaders.  For less than 25% of the time, this position may also perform as a construction and/or design leader directing major complex projects and assist the team by advising and coaching team members on projects.

Regional Storm Water and Erosion Control Engineer (Environmental Engineer)

This position functions as a Civil Engineer within the Technical Services Section as the North Central Regional Storm Water and Erosion Control Engineer for multi-modal transportation facilities development, construction, and maintenance. This position performs the highest degree of independent discretion and judgment, serving as a resource and advisor to project managers, project leaders, management, consultants, contractors, municipalities, and public officials on project-level erosion control and storm water management issues. Additionally, the Regional Storm Water and Erosion Control engineer will develop and implement the DOT/DNR Cooperative Agreement DNR/DOT provisions for storm water discharges, perform hydraulic analysis of streams, culverts, ditches, bridges, and other wetland areas, and perform noise analysis necessary for the regional transportation system.

Salary Information
These positions are in schedule-range 14-13 with an annual salary of $77,168 to $93,350, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have experience with all the following:

A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if PE registration is from another state
