Job Description:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? Our sustainment division invites qualified candidates to apply for our Quality Leader opening supporting additive manufacturing and other cutting edge advanced manufacturing technologies! This is a full time benefit eligible position that offers health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, disability, tuition assistance, vacation/sick accrual and holiday pay.

This position will elevate the existing quality system to the next-level Quality Management System (QMS), supporting increased product criticality, process discipline, and quality metrics improvement. Additionally, the job will entail 1) lead continued development, implementation, and maintenance of the QMS for a low volume, high mix advanced manufacturing environment at UDRI and 2) development of process documentation for use by the USAF. Support of advanced manufacturing programs for sustainment activities is integral to this enterprise.


Minimum Qualifications

P3:
1. Bachelors degree in science, engineering, engineering/manufacturing technology, or equivalent/applicable degree with 6 years min of applicable experience OR 10+ years of direct experience in quality management
2. 3+ years of experience in aerospace quality or other industrial industry
3. Demonstrated experience in setting up or leading manufacturing quality metrics
4. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a structured Quality Management System (QMS) including responsibilities such as developing, implementing, maintaining, or auditing procedures
5. Experience in root cause and corrective action processes and selection/use of associated tools
6. Working knowledge of the disposition of non-conformances and non-compliances (similar to Material Review Board type processes)
7. Experience in change control and change management
8. Ability to read, understand and subsequently interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
9. Experience with development and delivery/performance of training related to quality systems
10. Working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001 oversight
11. Organizational skills
12. Successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
13. Effective verbal and written communication skills with team members at all levels
14. Attention to detail
15. Due to the nature of this position, US citizenship is required

P4:
A P4 must meet all P3 minimum qualifications in addition to the qualifications listed below.
1. Same as above but 15+ years of applicable quality experience


Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Familiarity and experience with the latest Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards
2. Possess a recognized quality related certificate
3. Familiar with various manufacturing processes such as casting, CNC machining, forging, heat treat, and additive manufacturing for metals and plastics
4. ERP or MRP software experience utilizing its quality control modules
5. Non Destructive Inspection experience
6. Black Belt certification from corporate or accredited program with demonstrated success with DMAIC projects
7. Proficient in statistics as it relates to quality processes and process capability
8. Ability to relate to and motivate work associates in the spirit of collaboration, relative to lessons learned and preventative corrective actions
9. Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities
