This position is a systems and digital engineering support role for hypersonic research and development including model building, risk monitoring, and document creation and control. Under the leadership of a senior engineer, this role will support research, evaluation, systems model design, test/validation, and digital engineering support for hypersonic systems. The ideal candidate will: Interface with project leads and teams to identify and document hypersonic risk items in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering (DigEn) environments and track them through project end. Work with client and contractor engineers to create systems documents, obtain appropriate signatures, and ensure proper configuration control throughout the course of the project. Design and optimize systems engineering model for either mechanical systems or electrical systems, in accordance with current and applicable DoD standards and specifications. Support hypersonic testing by verifying that all design requirements are met, interfaces are successfully mated, and test conditions are properly set. The work will primarily support government customers.


Minimum Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Working knowledge in Excel and other MS Office Suite programs
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Hands on experience in the optimization of innovative solutions related to aerospace
systems, or aerospace support, equipment, and vehicles
- Prior involvement with projects on government contracts
- Previous work experience supporting Air Force DigEng or Digital Transformation initiatives
- Due to the nature of this position, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- 2+ years engineering/technical experience in research labs
- 2+ years data of data analysis experience
- 2+ years in systems process improvement
- Training in various programs such as Vicon, NEXUS, and OpenSIM
- Coding and scripting (e.g. Matlab, Python, etc.)
- Effective interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated at all levels of an organization
- Self motivated & organized with ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi disciplinary team
- Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills
