- Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineer III will join the National Airspace Integration Support Contract Team, providing support for the FAA Infrastructure Engineering Center. 75% On-Site at the AGL Regional Office in Des Plains, IL and 25% telework.
- Duties Include, but are NOT Limited To:
Supervise the construction of FAA projects to completion and provide quality assurance.
Plan and design a variety of facility establishment, replacements, and modernization projects.
Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solutions.
Communicates with internal and client project team members.
Application of principles, theories, and concepts of technical domain.
Perform project management related tasks and communications.
Maintain accurate daily reports.
Act as point of contact and coordinate directly with the General Contractor.
Utilize software tools to assist in analysis and design.
Participate in engineering to construction hand-off meetings
General Engineering Degree from a 4-year accredited college or university.
5 years of relevant experience in engineering, with mechanical design
Current and relevant knowledge of building and other codes.
Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines through to completion.
Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities
Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Tower (NASET), National Airspace System Equipment Building (NASEB), Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), fire detection, security, site work.
Ability to conduct efficient, organized, data gathering and data analysis.
Ability to develop project plans, schedules, and estimates.
Proficiency in using AutoCAD / MicroStation to create and edit engineering drawings.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and engineering tools/ applications.
