In the role of Electrical Technician, you will support our local operations/maintenance teams in the safe and efficient operation of our pipeline assets. It’s an excellent job for people who value safety, are motivated, want to learn and have a strong work ethic.

Placement Details:

This is a 4–8-month co-op placement starting in May 2023 over summer, located in Superior, Wisconsin.

What you will do:

  • Ensure that electrical maintenance work is performed in compliance with regulations and company O&M procedure requirements.
  • Adhere to Company safety and work policies.
  • Develop and execute equipment lock-outs and routine open system job plans.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot pipeline system electrical equipment: substation equipment, medium voltage switchgear, VFDs, 480V systems, PLC systems, instrumentation systems, petroleum quality systems, and measurement systems.
  • Collaborate with the Area Supervisor, other Electrical Technicians, Mechanical Technicians, Technical Specialists, and PLM, to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance work efficiently and effectively
  • Assist project teams with construction projects as assigned: design reviews, Hazops, pre-bid tours, pre-construction meetings, mechanical equipment installation, and equipment commissioning.
  • Communicate with and maintain a positive working relationship with the Control Center operators, Operations and Maintenance personnel, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Who you are: 

  • You are currently enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program studying an Industrial Electrician program. Candidates studying in adjacent programs may be considered.
  • Effective and professional communication both verbal and written with ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to actively and consistently represent Enbridge’s core values (Safety, Integrity, Respect).
  • Valid driver’s license and responsible driving record.

Working Conditions: 

  • Office based role, located in Superior, Wisconsin

Physical Requirements (Field) include but are not limited to:

Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 45 amount of pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects 45 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Physical Requirements (Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
