Job Summary Description

1. Responsible for understanding, implementing and maintaining IATF 16949:2016 requirements, PMP's Quality Management System, and PMP's Safety Program (future).

2. Complies with PMP QMS and IATF 16949:2016.

3. Process 2 Owner: Quality Assurance – Manufacturing Engineering.

4. Responsible for requests for quote requirements and preparation of quality plans, quality assurance procedures, product information sheets, and inspection planning. Prepares engineering and process control documentation (PCD) for review by management.

5. Assure quality products are produced in compliance with customers' specifications and the company's quality system. Responsible for interfacing with production personnel, ensuring compliance with work instructions and customer requirements through positive reinforcement.

6. Responsible for monitoring processes used to produce molded foam products. Review inspection documentation and testing documentation for compliance to customer's contract and prepare customer certifications

7. Reviews data for conformance to requirements and detection of adverse trends.

8. Responsible for Supplier Questionnaires and Supplier Quality Audits. Serve as quality assurance liaison with customers.

9. Specifically read and understand the System Management procedure for Control of Non- conformances and associated work instructions. Responsible for initiating PDR's and follow-up activity associated with non-conformances.

10. Responsible for and has the authority to take immediate corrective and preventive action to correct deficiencies of work in progress. Be assertive and question production actions that potentially impact the quality of products manufactured. Must immediately communicate problems to the General Manager and staff.

11. Responsible for processing PPAP and First Articles requirements.

12. May be required to set up tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.

13. Help determine appropriate quality objectives.

14. Review customer scorecards if provided.

15. Learn and navigate customer portals.

16. Authority to stop shipments and stop production in order to correct quality problems.

17. Perform administrative duties as defined by the General Manager.

18. Complies with all PMP Safety and housekeeping standards.

 

 


 
  • Approximately two to five years' experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the plastics or molding industry)
  • B.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred
  • Must have previous experience with ISO-9001 or IATF 16949:2016 Preferred
  • SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software knowledge preferred
  • Tooling design and knowledge preferred
  • Strong technical expertise to perform root cause analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to use analytical thinking/techniques to solve problems.
  • Ability to meet goals
  • Organized, self-motivated, and fast learner
  • Bilingual abilities are not required but are a plus
  • ISO 9001: 4 years (Preferred)
  • Quality Engineer: 4 years (Preferred)
