We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team in Pueblo, Colorado.

Key duties:

Safety:

  • Comply with and enforces all Nortrak safety policies and regulations.
  • Sets an example for all plant employees by performing all quality functions in a safe manner and encourages safety as a staff member of the plant floor.

 

Quality:

  • Develop and manage process control data within QMS systems to improve quality and effectively lower CoPQ rates.
  • Performs internal process audits to verify QMS effectiveness.
  • Establish and or optimize product/process continual improvement systems, metrics and reporting for plant. This could include defect (PPM) reporting, Quality documentation, corrective action tracking, manufacturing yields and capabilities reporting.
  • Core member of development teams utilizing the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) product development model and all associated tools and methods. Including generation and control of Process Flow Diagrams, Process/Design FMEAs, Control Plans, DOE and SPC analysis.
  • As needed perform appropriate inspections, to ensure that product realization processes meet all applicable specifications and standards.

On-Time Delivery:

  • Performs duties as required to ensure that customer delivery commitments can be met and files quality records in a timely manner.
  • Assists with customer complaints, to ensure customer satisfaction.

Costs

  • Ensures compliance of actual product realization with the planned product realization process.
  • Establish metrics and data analysis to identify and trend costs concerns.

People

  • Acts as a resource to management and plant employees by promoting quality product and helping to train employees to avoid production of non-conforming product.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Environmental

  • Assist with monitoring EMS performance utilizing Internal and Layered audits and Management Reviews.
  • Promote continual improvement of Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Adhere to Nortrak's Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies.

 

Job Requirements

  • Two or more years of experience using Data Analysis tools Mini-tab or other Statistical software.
  • Two Years’ heavy manufacturing experience in a quality related role implementing and enforcing quality standards.
  • Experience using CAD software is preferred.
  • Must possess strong problem solver skills.
  • Experience training employees would be an asset.
  • Able to plan, organize, and exhibit excellent follow-up skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to address concerns and communicate to employees in daily crew talks and the ability to write clear and concise written procedures.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other suitable discipline.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms
  • Required to stand for long periods, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb
  • Regularly lift and move up to 10-15 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 70 pounds
