Mid to Senior Level Project Manager - MECx Houston

Provides the following Primary Services:
 
  • Designing remedial engineering systems for air, soil, water, and wastewater.
  • In-situ and ex-situ remediation with a specialization in chemical oxidation to treat impacted subsurface soils and groundwater.
  • Engineering and planning response for disaster and emergency response.
  • Environmental engineering and assessment, including litigation support.
  • Indoor air quality assessment and remediation (mold, asbestos, and radon).
  • Environmental and horizontal construction management.
  • Chemistry data validation and analytical laboratory audits.
  • Water and wastewater treatment services, equipment, and chemicals.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
 
The Environmental Professional Engineer (PE) and Mid to Senior Level Project Manager is actively involved in the day-to-day management of projects. One of the top priorities of this position is to successfully oversee projects at various phases of completion - from start to finish.  This Professional will oversee multiple projects of all sizes and will collaborate with Project Managers in Denver and Chicago. On projects managed by the Houston Project Manager, they will manage Staff from Houston, Chicago, and Denver.  We are looking for an ambitious Team-Oriented Professional that desires to contribute to and lead a wide variety of environmental engineering projects. This position includes, but not limited to, engineering design, construction management (technical, schedule, and budget), conducting and managing field investigations, compliance assessments, drafting, and report writing.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering (or related field such as Civil or Industrial Engineering).
  • Minimum of five (5) years (Mid-Level) to ten (10) years (Senior-Level) of relevant engineering and environmental experience.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License.
  • Proficient with Python, Matlab, C++, VBA, or other data analysis tools that allows for test models, optimization of system variables, etc.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and GIS to develop system design schematics.
  • Experience with Environmental Contaminant Fate, Transport, and Exposure.
  • Experience conducting techno-economic analyses, life-cycle analyses, bench-scale testing, etc.
  • Proven track record of effective and professional communication skills to Staff, Clients, Regulators, and Stakeholders, including both written and verbal.
  • Business development skills strongly preferred, along with a track record of developing new business.  Established Client base a plus,
  • Possess the ability to manage the demands of multiple projects and multiple customers simultaneously.
  • Possess the ability to teach aspects of engineering, consulting, construction, and subcontracting business.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions that lead to a successful and safe project completion in a timely manner.
  • Honed aptitude to read and understand project specifications and drawings.
  • Have a desire to collaborate, train, and mentor staff.
  • Possess the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks that may vary in urgency between multiple projects and multiple segments.
  • Foster close working relationships with other Senior Management and Staff.
  • Experience in managing and adhering to strict schedule, scope, and budgets.
  • Experience working directly with Clients and Regulatory Agents.
  • Possess a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and exactness.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Possess the ability to work with a wide variety of personalities.
  • Possess the ability to manage stress and high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage projects at various stages and from start to finish.
  • Mentor and train Junior-Level Project Engineers and Managers.
  • Evaluate and develop business opportunities with current and future Clients.
  • Manage project contracts and ensure Scopes of Work are executed safely.
  • Prepare and review project setups, plans, schedules, deadlines, and objectives.
  • Travel as needed, which may be as much as 20% at times.
  • Review and approve monthly billing invoices to clients.
  • Provide Project Level oversight to Staff based on experience and expertise.
  • Assist Team Members in negotiating and mitigating project related conflicts.
  • Ability to effect decisions that convey accurate information.
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to gain restricted access at military installations.
  • Must pass Background and Drug Tests as required by federal contracts.
  • 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER and Annual Eight (8)-Hour Refreshers.
  • CPR and First Aid Certified.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision a plus.
  • Working knowledge of business economics and management.
  • Business acumen.
 
Compensation based on experience, plus bonuses and benefits. Company provides leadership development and supports continued education.
