Job Description:

Advanced Q-SYS Platform Trainer & Curriculum Developer will join the award-winning Q-SYS Training and Education team to develop and deliver the next generation of training curriculum for the Q-SYS audio video and control Platform and Ecosystem. While this role will focus on the entire breadth of the Q-SYS Platform, there will be a particular focus on writing curriculum for teaching Q-SYS control, visual & line-based coding, user control interface creation/CSS for Q-SYS, and third-party plugin development for the Q-SYS Ecosystem.

Curriculum Development
 
  • Write advanced technical curriculum aimed at teaching intermediate-to-advanced Q-SYS Programmers how to use Q-SYS Open tools (Lua and other common language-based scripting via Block Controller, Control Script, and line-based Text Controller within Q-SYS Designer Software) to integrate and control Q-SYS native and third-party devices into the Q-SYS Ecosystem in support of a growing Q-SYS Developer programming community.
  • Write technical curriculum for Q-SYS Designer Software that spans the entire Q-SYS Platform, including advanced AV system automation techniques, audio signal flow best practices, advanced network video distribution, user control interface/UX best practices development, UC Platform integration (Microsoft Teams Rooms, Google Meet, Zoom Rooms), Microsoft Teams Webhooks, and integration with Q-SYS Reflect Enterprise Manager
  • Maintain the existing library of hundreds of Q-SYS Training videos by writing addendum/additional supporting curriculum to support new features/changes to the Platform’s functionality/UI.
  • Whenever possible, this trainer would work with a professional in-house designer to transform the written curriculum into high production quality on-demand training curriculum videos and in-class content.
Live Trainer
 
  • Independently deliver curriculum on advanced Q-SYS Platform/Ecosystem topics.
  • Ability to handle high-stress troubleshooting scenarios in order to accommodate struggling students while keeping the class on track.
  • Classes range from 9-12 live students with class lengths ranging from 4-8 hours. Classes are delivered using live Q-SYS systems in our Training Facility in Costa Mesa, CA, for both remote and in-person students.
On-Camera Training Production
 
  • Provide on-camera and voiceover “edu-tainment” talent in order to capture and produce Q-SYS Training Curriculum in our Q-SYS Production Studio in Costa Mesa, CA.
  • This role requires you to meet the high standard of our on-demand training library with a confident, natural (and often times funny) on-camera presence.

Education
 
  • AA or certification in Audio Engineering or equivalent field experience
  • Q-SYS Certifications (Level 1 & Level 2, Control 101 & Control 201 required)
  • AV Control programming Certifications (Q-SYS Control 101/Q-SYS Control 201, CCP/CCMP, ACE, EAP highly recommended)
  • AVIXA certifications (CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D) are a plus
Experience:
 
  • 5-7 years of expert knowledge of audio/video DSP and/or Control programming for one of the major audio, video and third-party device control platforms (Q-SYS, Crestron, AMX, Extron)
  • Experience with Lua, Javascript, CSS, and other open-source languages required
  • 3+ years working in a Curriculum/training development capacity
  • Experience in Q-SYS Plugin development a huge plus
