Job Description:

Entry Level Civil/Structural Engineer
Job Description: Full time entry level civil EIT. Responsibilities include assisting lead engineers with the design and review of structures from concept through construction. Technical responsibilities include, but are not limited to; sizing of structural members, designing connections, finite element analysis and creating drawings. This position will receive training and mentorship from experienced and licensed professional engineers. Will work on a variety of projects, see website (www.casperphillips.com) for project examples.
Location: Tacoma, WA
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Master of Science or Master of Engineering with emphasis in structures.
  • 3.2 Cumulative GPA or better
  • E.I.T. Certification
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis
  • Drafting skills
  • Knowledge of AISC Steel Construction Manual
  • Must be able to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
 
Preferred Skills (not required but will help candidates stand out):
  • SAP2000 experience
  • Dynamic analysis of structures
  • AutoCAD/Inventor/Solidworks experience
  • Knowledge of ASCE 7-10 Wind Loads
  • Object Oriented Programming (C#, Visual Studio ect.)
  • Experience analyzing bolted and welded connections

  • Finite Element Analysis
  • Concrete Design
 
Salary: Base salary depends on qualifications and skills. Employer funded/provided healthcare plan with monthly health savings account (HSA) contributions ($3,000/year). Healthcare benefits are not subtracted from base salary. Performance based bonuses. Paid sick leave, paid vacation, paid holiday (6 weeks yearly paid time off, plus 10 days for holidays through the year). SARSEP (simplified employee pension) retirement plan.

New Hire yearly salary starts at ~$65,000.00 depending on skill level. Having a PE license grants an increased salary. If you acquire your PE license while working, the raise is effective immediately upon receipt of the license.
