Job Summary

We are searching for a software engineer to design and develop software. This position will perform coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting through the application development process, participate in the software design through design reviews, problem solving support, analytical support, design process, and design tools.  The position will demonstrate ability to work cross functionally for hardware and software and be a specialist on complex technical matters.

Responsibilities

• Develop control systems by designing and commissioning software and solutions while establishing and documenting work processes, monitoring the quality of work
• Troubleshoot electrical communication and control systems including controls, instrumentation, data communications, and electrical wiring
• Produce and deploy innovative controls software solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code
• Be the subject matter expert on all product software, testing, and software related issues
• Support business development with technical knowledge throughout the sales cycle process as needed

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field with experience in power electronics
• Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in “object oriented” code, C/C++/C#, JAVA, Python, VB.net and/or embedded software development.
• Experience or the ability to code in IEC61131-Structured Text using CodeSys but specific knowledge of those is less important than solid object-oriented coding skills
• Hardware experience is beneficial.
• Strong working knowledge of real-time control applications normally done by an Arduino or a PLC including instrumentation, data communications, and electrical wiring practices.
• Strong electrical print reading ability
• Ability to obtain government security clearance
• Excellent communication and organizational Skills
• Travel up to 30% is possible.
