Job Duties:  Improve query performance through optimizations, caching, concurrency, and scaling. Develop new algorithms and techniques for improving the performance and interactivity of Query pipeline. Design and implement new technologies and feature to support fast growing user base. Collaborate with cross-functional groups to build features for the Query Engine for Tableau. Develop novel query execution and optimization techniques for industry-leading performance. Work across our desktop, server, and online platforms to deliver the next generation of Tableau technologies. ˆAbove address additionally encompasses the following Salesforce locations in the Seattle area: 1621 North 34th Street, Seattle, WA 98103, 744 N. 34th St. Seattle, WA 98103, 1000 N. Northlake Way, Seattle, WA 98103, and 400 Urban Plaza, Suite 700 Kirkland, WA 98033. The permanent position may be offered at any of these locations in the Seattle area. Telecommuting is an option.  

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in the field of software engineering/program analysis or two (2) years of experience in the job offered OR Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of software engineering/program analysis or five (5) years of experience in the job offered. 

A related technical degree required (Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline).

Special Skill Requirements: (1) Query; (2) C++; (3) C; (4) Python; (5) HTML; (6) Matlab; (7) Java; (8) Git; and (9) MySQL.
