Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 2 (TE2) to work within the Olympic Region. Traffic Operations works to improve traffic safety and efficiency on state highways within the region, and the TE2 works as part of the Area 1 & 3 Operations team, to identify deficiencies and make sound recommendations and develop projects under the guidance of the Team Leader, Transportation Engineer 3. Under the direction of the Team Leader, this position assists and conducts traffic operational reviews and collects data. This position will work as a team with the Transportation Engineer 3 (TE3) or Transportation Technician 3 (TT3) on reviews and inventories and turns in their findings to their Team Leader for review and verification. In a field environment, the TE2 is expected to be proficient in the Design Manual, Traffic Manual, Standard Plans and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) to make appropriate recommendations based on state and federal standards and guidance.
