Job Description:

Saft Valdese has an opening for a Central Regional Sales Manager.   This position will sell lithium primary, MP, small VL and nickel products to the existing market customers in a professional and ethical manner. Insure that sales are targeted at technically appropriate applications and that quality of effort is not compromised. Work in conjunction with support persons in factories to rapidly grow Saft business. 

Summary of Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Grow sales within territory in order to meet the Civil Electronics Division short term and long term strategic goals.
  • Cultivates relationships with customers in order to help secure positioning within the account. Ability to build relationships at all levels within an organization from design engineers to Executive Management.
  • Plans own territory or account approach and manages own resources to achieve the sales plan within budgetary guidelines
  • Make calls to existing and potential customers, including OEM's. OES's,Tire 1 and Tier 2 Suppliers in order to increase customer base.
  • Participation in industry events,tradeshows, and industry specific committees.
  • Develops timely and accurate rolling sales forecasts to support the Sales and Operations Planning process in support of Manufacturing Operations.
  • Provide technical support to customer engineers as a stop-gap to full support from factories in order to meet the customers short term technical needs.
  • Provide support to Customer Service in all aspects pertaining to order input, customer support, providing requested documentation and general feedback in order to foster superior customer service.
  • Assist Marketing by providing pertinent feedback from the region concerning both product and market trends in order to support the proper product offering.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required,  
  • Specific sales training certificate programs preferred
  • 3 - 5 years proven, successful sales experience, with a focus on prospecting, hunting, and closing:
  • Existing knowledge/experience in the battery industry, or  a proven ability to learn primary and rechargeable lithium batteries electronics, physics, chemistry. Knowledge/experience in any of the following markets: medical devices, metering, Internet of Things, Oil & Gas, Military. 
  • Adaptive Coaching skills of listening, asking and responding .
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Experience with forecasting and CRM  systems.
