Loyola University Maryland invites applications for an adjunct teaching position for EG 424: Mechanical Design in Spring 2023 (1/17/2023 to 5/11/2023).
The course is scheduled for MW from 4:30 - 5:45 PM but can be rescheduled if necessary.
EG 424 is a concentration elective for juniors and seniors concentrating in Mechanical Engineering.
EG 424 Mechanical Design Course Description: The application of the mechanics of materials and other engineering principles to the design of mechanical elements. Covers deflection and impact, failure criteria, safety factors and reliability, fatigue, and design of various mechanical elements such as shafts, rolling-element bearings, gears, belts, springs, threaded fasteners, clutches, brakes, and chains.

Required Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Ph.D. candidates may be considered if they have extensive prior teaching experience.
- A strong interest in teaching undergraduates.
- A willingness to respond to feedback and work collaboratively with multiple instructors.
- An interest and/or demonstrated skills in high-impact teaching practices.
- An interest and/or knowledge in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Industry or research expertise that matches the course content.
