IMEG Corp. is growing, and we’d love to have you join our team!  We are currently seeking a Land Surveyor in our Lanham, MD office. As a Land Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and performance tracking for surveying projects and acts as a direct interface between the client and IMEG. The Land Surveyor utilizes appropriate staff members to ensure projects are successfully completed on schedule and within budget while adhering to the IMEG Core Values.

 

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with other Survey staff for scheduling of field crews for projects. Line out crews, provide deadlines, specific project and/or client crew instructions and schedule;
  • Assist with any field questions;
  • Research sufficient property information to prepare detailed scopes and budgets and schedules for surveying projects;
  • Create proposals for new work;
  • Provide very detailed project specific instructions for survey computations, calculations, exhibits, etc. with an understanding of staff working on the project and provide quality control and quality assurance for incoming and outgoing survey data;
  • Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title information as needed;
  • Follow accepted legal principals to compare and verify current measurements and resolve boundary disputes;
  • Prepares new parcel plats and legal descriptions.

 

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents with excellent communication skills;
  • Demonstrated aptitude to understand calculations, alignments, and instructions for field work;
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD C3D software functionality to prepare survey plats and exhibits;
  • Must maintain thorough understanding of IMEG survey equipment, survey practices, and survey software programs including GPS surveying practices;
  • Effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, and others;
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier.

 

Education and experience requirements are:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Land Surveying, or minor in Land Surveying
  • Professional Surveyor License + 4 Years’ of PLS Experience
