This position is located at Warner Robins, Georgia and will support sustainment activities including advanced manufacturing/repair and corrosion technologies. The position will serve as a post processing lab technician for the Additive Manufacturing operations (including part post processing such as 4-axis milling, heat treating and wire EDM). This includes setting up, operating and maintaining equipment; consumable and spare parts inventory and procurement, preparing and tracking material samples, and adhering to lab and equipment guidelines. The successful candidate will understand machining, additive manufacturing and metal repair techniques, part set up and post processing, as well as the ability to take experimental design guidance from professional engineers, set up the equipment, conduct the experiments and collect data as required with general or minimal supervision. The majority of work will support government customers, but some industry partners will be supported as well.


Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years directly related technology experience (ie machining, heat treating, grinding, EDM, additive manufacturing)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in working with engineers and engineering drawings to process part/tool designs
- Experience operating Haas VF series numerical controlled equipment for machining complex 3D geometries
- Experience operating and maintaining Mitsubishi MV-series electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment
- Experience building thermocouples and operating heat treatment furnaces
- Experience machining titanium and nickel-based alloys
- Working knowledge of GD&T and military specifications
- Working knowledge in Excel and other MS Office Suite programs
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
- Attention to detail
- Experience interacting with design and manufacturing engineers and other technical personnel, providing guidance around design for manufacturability
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Effective verbal communication skills with team members at all levels
- Effective organizational skills
- Due to the nature of this position, US citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- 5+ years of experience operating CNC mills or lathes
- 3+ years of experience operating additive manufacturing equipment to produce metal parts
- Experience machining additively manufactured metal parts
- Experience with lab environments and adherence to lab policies & procedures
- Working knowledge of USAF organizational, intermediate, and depot corrosion and coating operations
- 1+ years of experience in heat treat operations
- Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities
