Job Description:

Premier custom contract manufacturer of industrial sewn products servicing the aerospace, defense, and commercial industries. We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to become part of the management team. Reporting directly to the President and serving as a member of upper management, the position will manage and lead the engineering processes in product development, cost estimating, and supporting business development.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proficient in leading multiple projects from scope of development, detailed design, labor cost estimating, and transition of jobs onto the production floor to ensure successful production.
  • Communication and coordination of all pertinent manufacturing documentation to the production floor in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordination with sales, purchasing, and finance leaders on product costing and competitiveness.
  • Assess all current and future program efforts and estimate their labor costs, continuously adjust whenever there is a program change, and produce objective, realistic life cycle cost estimates in an effective and timely manner.
  • Along with other leaders in the executive team create a business culture of teamwork which is results oriented, customer focused, and driven to deliver quality products.
  • Build, motivate and lead an innovative engineering team with a “can do” attitude through mentoring, development and leadership. Work cross functionally to ensure ongoing cohesion and continuity throughout the different departments.
  • Provide general product engineering guidance and knowledge as required to deliver business goals.

Qualifications Include:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience, required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprint reading, required
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and to include Computer Aided Design software), required
  • Strong communication – both verbal and written, required
  • Must demonstrate a sense of urgency, attention to detail, commitment and follow-through while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, sound judgment and ability to adapt to a rapidly change environment
Compensation: $80K to $100K BOE
