The WI Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Division of Transportation System Development (DTSD) is seeking an interested and qualified individual to fill the Project Development Supervisor (Civil Engineer Transportation Supervisor) vacancy in the North Central Region!

This full-time position can be headquartered in Wisconsin Rapids.

Position Summary

This position performs in a supervisory capacity in a Transportation Regional office in the functional area of Project Development. One of its primary roles is to achieve program objectives by interpreting and applying policy within its programmatic area. This position also supervises a regional project development unit consisting of a mix of professional and technical staff in the delivery and oversight of design and construction projects. It also acts as a consultant unit supervisor for multiple regional project development units. Responsibilities include broad leadership to coordinate resources and develop staff; applying appropriate discipline-specific technical expertise in decision-making; fulfilling a management role in policy development and implementation; and determining ways and means of accomplishing mission-critical objectives. This position will be required to sign technical engineering documents, plans, and forms.

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range 81-03 with an annual salary of $81,120 - $99,840, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have experience with all the following:

  • A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if the PE registration is from another state.
  • Experience with transportation project management. Examples may include: Oversight of transportation projects in design/construction (interpretation of Facilities Development Manual or similar). Managing project progress tracking/reporting. Developing and tracking project budgets.
