This is a Structures Design Unit Supervisor position in the Bureau of Structures (BOS), Structures Design Section working under the general policy direction of the Structures Design Section Chief.  This position is responsible for the complete supervision of transportation structure design and plan production for the Department of Transportation (DOT).  These projects may consist of new structures, as well as the maintenance and repair of existing structures.

This position plans and schedules all work for the unit.  These activities require that this individual prioritize and assign work to meet the scheduled completion dates.  This position also maintains work records and monitors the status of the unit’s projects, resulting in the production of monthly progress reports. 

This position requires good managerial aptitude along with extensive experience in the design and analysis of concrete and steel structures, and a comprehensive understanding of design specifications is required.  This position performs the final review of the structure plans and thus has a high level of accountability for the complete project.  Additionally, this position requires effective communication with other agencies, regions, consultants, and contractors related to the design and construction of transportation structures.

This position is in schedule-range 81-03 with an annual salary of $83,200 - $99,840, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
