IMEG Corp. is growing, and we’d love to have you join our team!  We are currently seeking a Survey Technician in our Ontario, CA office.  As a Survey Technician you will be responsible for providing support to the Survey department on ALTA surveys, topographic mapping, Design Survey mapping as well as mapping support of field survey related data. Surveying assistance under leadership from any Senior Survey Technician or Land Surveyor and is responsible for calculations and surveying judgment that is based on prior surveying experience, documented practices, systems or examples which will be reviewed by a more Senior Surveyor or Land Surveyor.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Survey work performed for this position will be under the direction of an Senior Survey Technician or Land Surveyor;
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and possess good work ethics and time management skills;
  • Eager to expand your knowledge of the survey Record Mapping department, preparation of Parcel/Tract Maps and their submittal requirements;
  • Working knowledge of project research and communication with the local agencies;
  • Working knowledge of Field Survey Data and the ability to map field survey topographic data;
  • CADD mapping support for Field Survey depart calculations on aerial control surveys and construction staking projects;
  • Give support and positive communicate effectively with the client when required;
  • Communicates daily with the Project Manager and Field Surveyors;
  • Perform field work for land surveying scopes of work including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, topography surveys and performing routine survey/engineering computations for various project types;
  • Transfer files between data collectors and internal company project folders;
  • Maintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers;
  • Observe safety and security procedures;

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Basic knowledge of survey principles and survey computations covering both plane and spherical geometry.
  • Problem solving techniques.
  • Possesses basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to professionally represent IMEG.
  • Travel may be required.

Education and experience requirements are:

  • Associates Degree in Land Surveying preferred;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in AutoCAD Civil 3D;
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier.
