Job Description:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? UDRI is looking for an Associate Machine Learning Engineer to join the SPIRE group. You will contribute to a growing team responsible for cutting-edge technology and enhancing artificial intelligence, autonomy and data exploitation capabilities and effectiveness.

An ideal candidate for this role will be excited at the prospect of implementing state of the art machine learning techniques, specifically in the areas of computer vision and natural language processing, to reveal new insights and research new applications. Past experience with these topics, either academic or professional, is beneficial. However, as this is an entry level position in a relatively new and fast growing field, emphasis is placed on enthusiastic, self-starting individuals that are passionate about learning and growing in this technical domain.


Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree
2. Due to the nature of this position, US. Citizenship is required
3. Successful experience (academic or professional) programming in Python
4. Knowledge of data structures
5. Can work autonomously and is task oriented, willing to learn more skills


Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Master's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
2. Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills
3. Effective written and verbal communication skills
4. Familiarity or experience (academic or professional) with:
-- 4.1. Software and/or algorithm development in Python
-- 4.2. Artificial intelligence and/or autonomous systems
-- 4.3. Machine/deep learning techniques
-- 4.4. Natural language processing
-- 4.5. Computer vision/image processing
-- 4.6. Source code version control systems such as Git, Subversion, or similar
-- 4.7. Working in Linux environments

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
