This position is located at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.

The University of Dayton does not currently require employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19. However, due solely to USAF requirements, the successful candidate will need to present proof of Covid-19 vaccination prior to any travel, which is a requirement for this position.

1. Technical Order Content Manager
• Plans and provides Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) technical advice, support, development and maintenance or the Tri Service Technical Orders.
• Serves as a Nondestructive Inspection technical specialist, anticipating future requirements, defining approaches for analytical, experimental, and operational demonstrations to develop nondestructive inspection technology/equipment methods by major extension of advanced techniques normally associated with laboratory use or by application of new techniques.
• Plans and implements Nondestructive Inspection program technical activities.
• Represents the AF, AF NDI Program Manager at a variety of NDI functional area organizations.
2. Nondestructive Inspection and Test Subject Matter Expert
• The selected candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in aerospace systems nondestructive inspection and aircraft maintenance. Duties include
o Assisting the Field Management Team performing assessments of base NDI Laboratories.
o Manage SharePoint site: Manages the Air Force Nondestructive Office (AFNDIO) multimedia platform site (SharePoint) for the NDI community, stakeholders, and other entities.
3. Travel: Work will require occasional travel away from the normal duty station.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and at least six years’ experience OR Master’s degree and at least five years’ experience.
• Extensive knowledge of NDI inspection methods, techniques, equipment certification requirements and practices.
• Ability to attain Level 3 certification in the following NDI methods: penetrant, magnetic particle, eddy current, radiography, and ultrasonic.
• Knowledge of quality assurance principles, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to apply sampling methods; read, interpret, and apply specifications and drawings; knowledge of technical data, such as blueprints, engineering drawings, and microfilm.
• Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
• Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to problem solve.
• Ability to work well with others in a team setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with SharePoint and SharePoint site management.
• Due to the nature of this position, the applicant must be a US Citizen.
• The employee will be required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.


Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree and eight or more years’ experience OR Master’s degree and six or more years’ experience.
• NAS 410 Level 3 certification in at least three of the above NDI methods.
• Specialized experience must include providing engineering technical services for the Nondestructive Inspection aircraft maintenance program in accordance with Air Force instructions, providing adequate confidence that products, technical data or nondestructive inspection equipment will conform to validated requirements throughout a weapons system life cycle.
• Ability to research, analyze, interpret and apply rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Experience interacting with civilian personnel, government personnel, and contractors.
• Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.
• Experience with Air Force personnel and training systems.
• Experience creating and maintaining laboratory records or other equivalent tasks.
• Self-starter with ability to operate with minimal supervision.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
