Job Description:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? UDRI invites qualified candidates to apply for Associate Mechanical Test Technician opening!

UDRI is seeking a junior technician to assist in executing test setups and subsequent tests, perform instrument calibrations, and conduct general equipment maintenance. Efforts typically involve mechanical, electrical, thermal, impact, vibration, and combined evaluation of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components and structures. Work is performed using a variety of precision, manually operated or programmed mechanical, electrical, electronic, and hydraulic instruments and systems.


Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge or aptitude for understanding fundamental concepts of tests and calibrations, electronics, and for understanding servohydraulic and electrodynamic test equipment.
Ability to perform and document work in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 requirements.
Ability to carry out documented instructions efficiently and with careful attention to detail.
Interest and ability to develop and acquire new technical skills.
Ability to utilize Microsoft® spreadsheets and word processor to document activities and results.
Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lb without assistance.
Due to the security clearance requirements of this position, US citizenship is required.
The candidate must be able to pass a National Agency Check.

Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Applicable experience or knowledge in vehicle systems or drivetrain, wiring/soldering, electronics or computer systems.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
