Job Description:

HukariAscendent is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned, Small Business specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical support services associated with commercial nuclear power and other Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear activities. 

We are looking for six (6) Quality Assurance Engineers to provide support to National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Capital Projects for, Quality Assurance with the Savannah River Site (SRS). This support is in the form of administrative and technical expertise in the areas of quality assurance, external/internal audits, surveillances of subcontractor, reviews (e.g., design, specifications), quality control inspections, and implementation of quality requirements. Safety is a primary responsibility for all employees working on and off SRS. Candidate shall obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task.


Duties:
Extensive knowledge of quality and safety requirements for the nuclear industry and general industrial practices. Develop and revise Quality procedures in accordance with SRNS requirements, applicable standards (e.g., NQA-1-2019), and government regulations. Works with both Quality, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations Departments to create, revise and approve documents to be used by procurement for the purchase of material and services.

Candidate shall be responsible for the management and execution of assigned programs/projects in accordance with the requirements of SRNS, and the operating policies and principles. The Candidate is accountable for the execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and required specifications for the project.

Duration:  One(1) one-year base period with two (2) one-year option periods.

2000 Straight Time Hours / 500 Overtime Hours (per position).


Required Qualifications :
Education: PhD or master's degree with specialized technical training or bachelor's degree with extensive, highly specialized training.


Experience/Skills:
Minimum 15 years supporting commercial or federal science, nuclear engineering or other task relevant programs or projects; typically, 10 or more years in a management role.
Review/Approve Design Output Documents, Work Instructions (Work Packages), Inspection & Test Plans, and Nonconformance Reports.
Perform field surveillances of subcontractor(s) per project schedule or as necessary.
Develop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans such as electrical, mechanical, welding, piping, civil, structural, pressure testing, etc. in accordance with Design Output documents, Codes, and Standards.
Perform field related inspections in accordance with Quality Control Inspection Plans.
Document inspection results on applicable inspection records and issue Non-Conformance reports as required.
Review and comment on selected engineering and procurement documents to ensure the inclusion of applicable technical and quality requirements.
Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings, specifications, and other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment.
Ensure nuclear Commercial Grade Dedication requirements are applied to material dedications for use in safety applications when applicable during field related inspections.
Develop/Revise Quality procedures in accordance with customer requirements, applicable standards (e.g., NQA-1-2019), and government regulations.
Experience with multiple disciplines (e.g., Lead Auditor) is preferred but not required.
Certifications related to Quality Control desired.
Ability to obtain a Q Level Security Clearance.
Related experience may be used in lieu of a degree.

An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Personnel must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. After award, the selected uncleared candidate may be required to apply for a DOE clearance.
