Salesforce seeks a Director, Software Engineering at our Bellevue, WA office located at 929 108th Ave NE, 98004. 1 position is available on this team. Job Duties: Identify, hire and retain strong software engineers. Oversee design, development, debugging, and operation of resilient distributed systems that run across thousands of compute nodes in multiple datacenters. Deliver reliable, self-healing services on unreliable hardware. Oversee software development for new functionalities. Drive delivery of products with data-driven feedback loops. Balance live-site management, feature delivery, and retirement of technical debt. Oversee each step of the product development process, from ideation to implementation to release. Deliver superior user experience and drive effective resolution of technical and performance issues. Participate in the software design and operations for highly available services. Lead cross functional initiatives and work with other engineering teams, product management, and technical operations. Drive continual improvements in processes to help the team achieve better results in production systems. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and five (5) years of experience in the field of software engineering/program analysis or five (5)  years of experience in the job offered OR Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of software engineering/program analysis or seven (7) years of experience in the job offered. Training will not be provided to applicants. Special Skill Requirements: (1) C++ in a Linux/UNIX data center environment (5 years); (2) C#; (3) Python; (4) Crash-only and recovery-oriented software design; (5) Agile development methodology; (6) Test-Driven Development; (7) Cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP); (8) PowerShell; (9) Software Defined Networking; (10) DevOps (Kubernetes, Containers & CI/CD); and (11) Highly available and distributed architecture.
