Position Summary
Analyzes and evaluates work processes to improve the efficiency, quality and ergonomics of the manufacturing process.
Works under general supervision using knowledge of technical concepts within discipline.  Uses judgment to determine methods and procedures to solve basic problems related to functional area.  May provide training and guidance to non-exempt employees and other engineering personnel.

  1. Analyzes existing manufacturing processes and looks for opportunities to improve the manufacturing operation through the use of additional tools and or automation.
  2. Assists in the design and manufacture of tools, jigs, and other automation equipment to improve the efficiency and ergonomics of the manufacturing operation.
  3. Utilizes internal machine shop to fabricate components to reduce cost or improve upon delivery time.
  4. Assists with equipment set-up for the introduction of new models/new processes.
  5. Evaluates existing internal resources and equipment to see if it can be adapted and incorporated into new processes.
  6. Supports and/or leads team projects as needed.
Other Responsibilities
  1. Follow company-wide safety programs, 5S initiatives, and ISO procedures
  2. Regular and reliable attendance is required to accomplish essential job functions of the role.
Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  2. 0-2 years engineering related experience.
  3. Ability to design and build basic production fixtures and equipment.
  4. Strong PC skills including email, word-processing, spreadsheets. 
  5. CAD experience required
  6. Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
  7. Strong communication skills; ability to work cross-departmentally and with outside vendors.
  8. Ability to write/develop technical documentation.
  9. Basic knowledge of machine shop tools and equipment.
  10. Project management experience is a plus
