Salary: $2,200.00 -- $2,468.00 semi-monthly

Job Location: This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality, Air Pollution Control Program and will be located at 1659 East Elm St., Jefferson City, Missouri.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Air Pollution Control Program’s Permit Section is seeking a motivated individual who can play a pivotal role in the issuance of permits. The Air Program’s Permit Section is a fast-paced environment that works with a wide variety of people and industries across the State of Missouri. This position will review applications and draft air permits in accordance with Federal and State Laws and Regulations.

What you’ll do:

  • Evaluate chemical and mechanical processes for the type and amount of emissions, determine state and federal rule applicability, and assess compliance with said rules.
  • Draft air permits in accordance with state and federal regulations, guidance, and policy.
  • Attend/participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of current and future state/federal regulations.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline and 0-4 years of relevant experience. Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination is preferred. (Substitutions may be allowed.).
  • Ability to travel/valid driver’s license.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in use of computers, Microsoft Office programs and application.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge and understanding of chemical and mechanical processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
