We are looking for a Project Manager toto provide support to the NNSA Capital Project and the SRPPF project leadership team.
Support the SRPPF project integrated design effort currently underway. These design tasks are taking place in three distinct locations. The success of the overall effort will depend on clear and concise communications. These communications will include but are not limited to:
• Design Information requests
• Problem identification and resolution
• Resource allocation issues
• Project management issues
• Design review comment resolution
• Other design challenges that may arise
• All work shall be performed using SRNS systems/software.
To ensure a seamless a communication and oversight system, provide support as required at any of the following locations:
• Los Alamos, NM; Merrick Engineering
• Denver, CO; Merrick Engineering
• Greenville, SC; Fluor Engineering
Provide design engineering oversight and act as an information conduit to the SRNS Project Engineering Manager. Their duties include:
• Attend Daily meetings on location
• Participate in routine calls/meetings with SRNS personnel.
• Act as the SRNS Point of Contact for questions / issues for both SRNS and Engineering Firm personnel
• Identify potential project issues on location
• Act as SRNS point of contact with engineering managers, project management team and others.
• Provide interface between SRNS and off-site entities to maintain timely and effective communications.
• Establish relationships with SRNS and off-site personnel and management to ensure open and clear communications.
• Assure off-site tasking is being performed on schedule, within budget and with first time quality.
• Work with SRNS Control Account Managers (CAM's) and management teams to provide performance feedback.
• Break down barriers that are hindering program success.
• Contribute to the definition of the manufacturing process and equipment to be utilized within the assigned space identified.
• Assist in reviews including program performance, risk analysis, change management, training, and worker qualification requirements.
• Obtain lessons learned and forward to appropriate parties for evaluation and implementation. • Develop and implement written procedures necessary to perform off-site assignment.
• Monitor activities and configuration of the structure, systems and components to ensure adherence to the scope of work assigned.
• Be aware of any issues/action items identified and identify who the responsible party is for each item.
• Participate in regularly scheduled meetings and provide input as required.
• Enforce compliance with Site engineering requirements.
Period of Performance: One(1) base period starting at award through 03/28/2023 with one(1) one-year option period (1880ST / 200OT)
Required Qualifications :
Education: PhD or master’s degree with specialized technical training or bachelor’s degree with extensive, highly specialized training, preferred PMP certification.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 15 years supporting a commercial or federal science, nuclear engineering, or other task relevant programs or projects; typically, 10 or more years in a management role.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of nuclear industry experience, including plutonium processing and pit manufacturing systems engineering and/or operational expertise preferred. Rocky Flats experience is highly desirable
- An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Candidate(s) must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance.
