This position is located at Warner Robins, Georgia and will support sustainment activities including advanced manufacturing/repair and corrosion technologies. The position will serve as a CNC programmer for the Additive Manufacturing, Cold Spray Repair, and/or Corrosion Laboratories. This includes setting up, creating CNC program files, operating and maintaining equipment; consumable and spare parts inventory and procurement, preparing and tracking material samples, and adhering to lab and equipment guidelines. The successful candidate will understand machining, additive manufacturing and metal repair techniques, and provide guidance on design for manufacturability; equipment and part set up and part processing, as well as the ability to take experimental design guidance from professional engineers, set up the equipment, conduct the experiments and collect data as required with general or minimal supervision. The master technician will be a focal point for machining metal printed parts, advanced manufacturing and repair projects. A master technician will also act as a mentor for junior technicians and engineers. The majority of work will support government customers, but some industry partners will be supported as well.


Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in computer numerical control (CNC) programming and operations for metals (i.e. milling, turning, EDM, etc…)
• Minimum of 5 years experience using Mastercam software to program CNC milling equipment to machine complex 3-axis aerospace parts and fixtures
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in working with engineers and engineering drawing, creating CAM or NC code for processing part/tool designs
• Ability to create, read and interpret models, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
• Effective interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with team members at all levels
• Attention to detail
• Due to the nature of this position, US citizenship is required


Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• 20+ years machining/manufacturing experience
• 15+ years of experience in CNC or programming and machining operations for metals
• Experience programming and operating Haas CNC milling machines and lathes
• Experience creating part machining work plans/packages
• Proficient in Solidsworks and Mastercam
• Experience in jig and fixture design for CNC work-holding
• Multi-axis and trunnion programming experience
• Experience machining castings or additively manufactured parts
• Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities
