IMEG Corp. is growing, and we’d love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in our San Francisco, CA office. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and construction of complex large-scale and high-rise building projects including commercial, residential, mixed-use, medical, and industrial projects using concrete, steel, masonry, and wood construction. You must be capable of providing a high level of leadership, mentoring and training for less experienced staff and participate in business development activities.
Some key duties and responsibilities include:
- Make major design recommendations and decisions with very little input from senior staff.
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and civil.
- Lead the analysis and design of structures using computer software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations.
- Lead the construction administration phase of projects with very little input from senior staff.
- Write technical letters and reports as required.
- Perform final quality control checks of projects.
- Review RFP’s, calculate costs and write fee proposals.
- Participate in business development activities and consistently bring work into the firm with new or existing clients.
Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:
- Mastery of the technical aspects of structural analysis and design of buildings.
- Ability to use engineering and office software; some experience with Revit preferred.
- Proficient in leading the construction administration process.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
- Ability to mentor, motivate, and lead others.
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
Education and experience requirements are:
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, or bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis.
- 10-15 years of experience.
- Professional Engineering License.
- Structural Engineering License.
