IMEG Corp. is growing, and we’d love to have you join our team!  We are currently seeking Senior Structural Engineer in our Austin, TX Office. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and construction of complex large-scale and high-rise building projects including commercial, residential, mixed-use, medical, and industrial projects using concrete, steel, masonry, and wood construction. You must be capable of providing a high level of leadership, mentoring and training for less experienced staff and participate in business development activities.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Effectively serves as Project Manager on large complex projects or multiple smaller projects; Identifies prospective clients, assists in marketing to develop new clients, and prepares proposals for services.
  • Consistently brings work into the firm with existing or new clients and participates in presentations to clients.
  • Makes major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from others; Plans design work by discipline for all project sizes and assigns duties to staff working on projects; Reviews correspondence prepared by junior staff; Actively participates in quality control of projects.
  • Contributes to leadership in some aspect of our Technical Operations Team for both large and small projects.
  • Acts as an advisor and analyzes technical problems/writes reports.
  • Plays a significant role in project reviews for quality control for large complex projects.
  • Provides technical assistance to help resolve field issues, must be able to visit project sites and resolve technical issues.
  • Review RFP’s, determine effort required and write fee proposals.

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Mastery of the technical aspects of structural analysis and design of buildings.
  • Ability to use engineering and office software; some experience with Revit preferred.
  • Proficient in leading the construction administration process.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and lead others.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.

Education and experience requirements are:

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, or bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • Minimum of 13 years of qualifying experience.
  • Professional Engineering License.
