Summary of Responsibilities

We are looking to expand our team to include a project engineer for Energy and Commissioning projects. Candidate’s duties will primarily focus on administering commissioning projects, preparing specifications, leading Owner Project Requirement document development, preparing functional testing plans and commissioning plans, overseeing and performing on site functional testing, project coordination and other duties as required as part of the commissioning process. Duties also include preparing documentation for engineering related criteria / credits for LEED or other sustainable certification rating systems as applicable. Candidate will be responsible for administering functional testing on site.

In addition to commissioning, candidate may be tasked with conducting site analysis for Energy Audits, building system assessments, and other field related inspections.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Required qualifications:
    • BSME/BSEE (EIT preferred, must meet minimum requirements to get EIT)
    • Qualifications and experience to take Cx Certification test
      • Minimum participation in 3 Cx projects
      • Emerald Built Environments covers the cost of this test when successfully passed
    • Proficient in AutoCad (Revit a plus)
    • Minimum 5-7 years experience
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Professional Engineer
    • LEED AP credentials
    • Whole Building Energy Modeling credentials and experience and proficiency with energy modeling software (preferably Trane Trace/3D Plus), as well as working knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1
    • AutoCAD/Revit
    • RESNET/HERS/NGBS certification and/or experience
