Landscape Architect

Job Overview
Seeking a landscape architect to develop site and landscape plans for real estate development projects at our Glen Rock, NJ or Southbridge, MA office. Projects include small stand-alone commercial sites to large multi-family and industrial sites. Bertin Engineering is an established multi-disciplinary consulting firm with a successful track record for providing highly professional service and quality designs.

Responsibilities

• Apply networking skills to develop clients
• Meet with clients, builders, engineers and landscapers to explain project goals
• Use CAD to develop graphic representation of projects
• Select materials based on client needs, budget and climate parameters
• Perform zoning review and property evaluations
• Work with staff and clients to develop conceptual plans
• Prepare landscape and grading plans; Assist in development of complete site plans.
• Develop streetscape plans and special hardscape designs
• Interact with regulatory and review agencies
• Prepare takeoffs and estimates.
• Research and analyze environmental reports on land conditions
• Provide recommendations on conservation and sustainability issues
• Conduct on-site inspections to assure adherence to final plan

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture required
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role
• Evidence of continuing education a plus
• Proficient with computer aided design and drafting
• Experience with CAD
• Familiarity with GISMust be creative and resourceful to fulfill customer needs within budget parameters
• Excellent analytical skills

• Adept at problem solving
• Open to critique and willing to learn
• Show interest in staying current with industry trends and developments
• Be comfortable doing research in related disciplines
• Ability to engage easily with a with a wide range of people including clients, the community, Cities and Townships, and Planning and Zoning Boards.
