Job Description:

This position is located at The Advanced Technology and Training Center – Middle Georgia, in Warner Robins, Georgia. It provides engineering support for aircraft and vehicle sustainment technology development and transition including vehicle maintenance, aircraft maintenance and ground support equipment. Under the leadership of a senior engineer, this role will:
- Support design, re-engineering and test/validation of hardware for additive manufacturing
- Support design, re-engineering and test/validation of hardware/procedures for cold spray repair technologies
- Support sustainment technology development and integration projects related to aerospace systems (including ground support equipment) corrosion prevention and control
- Support maintenance and/or manufacturing process optimization, including organic and inorganic coating application and removal
- Support materials performance assessments
- Develop and execute project plans, plan and manage qualification testing
- Participate in training and community outreach events
- Develop long-term product implementation strategies



Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications for R1
- BS in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing Materials, or engineering technology or related engineering/engineering technology field).
- 1 year of engineering/technical product design, hardware ownership experience with working knowledge of GD&T standards.
- Ability to create, read and interpret models, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software and 2D drawing creation, SolidWorks preferred.
- Familiar with creating and executing component and system level validation test plans
- Familiar with various manufacturing processes such as casting, NC machining, forging, heat treat and additive manufacturing for metals and/or plastics.
- Familiar with data collection, analysis, and problem-solving.
- Effecitve verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office Suite programs.
- Attention to detail
- Successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
- Due to the nature of this position, US Citizenship is required
- Valid driver’s license

Minimum requirements for R2:
- BS in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing Materials, or engineering technology or related engineering/engineering technology field).
-3+ years of engineering/technical product design, hardware ownership or manufacturing/ machining operations experience with working knowledge of GD&T standards.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software and 2D drawing creation SolidWorks preferred.
- Ability to create, read and interpret models, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
- 3+ years of experience in process documentation and process development
- Understanding of advanced manufacturing materials, processes and parameters; familiar with various manufacturing processes such as casting, NC machining, forging, heat treat and additive manufacturing for metals and/or plastics.
- Working knowledge of FEA software and data analysis.
- 1 year of experience in analysis of components in relation to mechanical systems, including Finite Element Analysis for structural, fatigue, thermal, vibration, and acoustics.
- 2 years of experience with creating and executing component and system level validation and qualification test plans.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and problem-solving.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Working knowledge in Excel and other MS Office Suite programs
- Attention to detail
- Due to the nature of this position, US Citizenship is required.


Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

R1 Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or higher degree in technical field
- 2+ years of engineering/technical product design experience
- 2+ years of experience in analysis and FEA
- 2+ years engineering/technical project management experience
- Working knowledge of US Air Force aircraft maintenance, sustainment, and acquisition policies and procedures
- Familiarity with Additive Manufacturing (AM)
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated at all levels of an organization
- Self-motivated & organized with ability to work with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills
- Proficient in Solidworks 3D CAD modeling and Ansys or Abaqus for FEA
- Proficiency with MS SharePoint and MS Project

R2 Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or higher degree in technical field
- Working knowledge of US Air Force aircraft maintenance, sustainment, and acquisition policies and procedures
- 4+ years engineering/technical project management experience
- 4+ years aircraft maintenance or corrosion management experience
- Familiarity with Additive Manufacturing (AM)
- Demonstrated success in establishing and managing stakeholder expectations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with MS SharePoint and MS Project
- 3+ years of directly related applied manufacturing engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience with additive manufacturing techniques
- ERP or MRP software experience
- PLM software experience
- Non Destructive Inspection Experience
