Job Description:

Dematic is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join our growing Global Software Organization. You will accelerate innovation with design, development, testing, debugging, documentation, commissioning, training and support activities that build intelligent Distribution Center Order Fulfillment Software Solutions. Core Job Responsibilities: - Provides technical leadership for complex projects - Contributes to departmental standards and policies - Interacts with other Dematic disciplines, customers and 3rd parties to develop software solutions - Supports the development and delivery of key project documents - Responsible for software design and documentation for assigned projects - Participates in the software development process from requirements thru delivery - Improves organizational capability through mentorship, lunch and learns, etc. - Contributes to product and process improvements via submittal of product enhancement requests and participation in company / departmental initiatives. Leads integrated testing and is responsible for the overall quality of the project solution.

Technical Knowledge You Possess

  • In-depth understanding of software design principals and best practices
  • Advanced practical experience with C programming
  • Experience delivering software systems in real-time environments
  • Proficiency in other programming languages a plus
  • Database design and SQL programming experience
  • General knowledge of Web Services (SOAP, REST), Socket Programming
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and TestRail
  • Experience with TFS
  • Experience leading and mentoring more junior engineers to deliver software solutions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or applicable Engineering discipline
  • 8+ yrs of software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of industrial automation industry experience (WMS or WCS) a plus
Willingness to travel 20%
