Job Description:

UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers, invites qualified applicant to apply for our Senior Security Manager opening. The UDRI Security Manager assists the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in implementing the UDRI security program, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with government and organizational regulations and requirements. The Security Manager serves as the Alternate FSO, Alternate Contractor Special Security Officer (ACSSO), and Alternate Contractor Program Security Officer (ACPSO). The Security Manager performs the following duties:
• Maintains documentation provided by the CSSO required for the continuing accreditation of the UDRI Sensitive Compartmented Area Facility (SCIF).
• Maintains documentation provided by the CPSO required for the continuing accreditation of the UDRI Special Access Programs Facility (SAPF).
• Maintains a working knowledge of federal security regulations that apply to company compliance and contract execution as set forth in SAP security rules (DoD 5205.07), SCI security rules (ICDs) and DOD security rules (NISPOM, 32 CFR Part 117) and other relevant authorities. Develops, documents, and implements processes and procedures for handling, safeguarding, and storing classified documentation, and for granting personnel and visitors access to classified materials.
• Ensures continuing clearance eligibility of the UDRI SCI and SAP briefed workforce.
• In coordination with the Facility Security Officer, develops and implements security training and answers security related questions
• Continuously reviews local SCIF and SAPF documentation for relevance and currency.
• Assists in the leadership of the Office for Research Security
• As required, applies business-minded and risk-managed solutions to security issues and business challenges, and communicates observations and recommendations to leadership and business partners. Reviews solicitations, Requests for Proposals, proposals and contracts to provide security-related expertise, guidance, and implementation plans in accordance with NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117.
• Manages the SAP and SCI self-assessment programs and quarterly and semiannual compliance activities.
• Receives, consolidates, and transmits required reportable information for SCI and SAP cleared personnel.
 
 
 
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of six years of experience, OR a Master's degree plus a minimum of five years of experience is required. The education requirement may be waived for a candidate with 10 years of security related experience
• Subject matter expertise in administering SAP and SCI security programs
• Experience conducting NISP self-inspections of varying complexity
• Established relationships with Department of Defense customers and DCSA personnel
• Knowledge of DoD and Federal Agencies' controlled unclassified information (CUI)/sensitive information security requirements
• Completion of CPSO/CSSO certification-related courses and training
• Experience with applicable security databases
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone and as part of a culturally diverse team in a growing organization
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Due to the nature of this position, U.S. citizenship is required and the candidate must be able to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance.
• Valid Driver's License with low risk driving record.
 
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
• Active Industrial Security related professional certification
• Experience working for a defense contractor with 400 or more employees
• Good working knowledge of Controlled Unclassified Information requirements
• Experience engaging with local and/or national security organizations such as the National Classified Management Society (NCMS)

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
