Analyst (San Francisco, CA): Undertake and deliver qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for multiple hazards including earthquakes, flood, sea level rise, wind, and climate change. Develop mitigation, adaptation, and resilience strategies for building and infrastructure projects and portfolios, corporations/institutions, and cities/communities. Provide civil engineering support to the growth of the Risk and Resilience Consulting business, including client development, general business development, and the strategic direction of the Advanced Technology and Research (AT+R) team. Develop first principles and beyond code approaches to solve complex structural and infrastructure analysis problems. Develop advanced finite element models and numerical simulation approaches to simulate how buildings and other infrastructures behave under different types of loadings to evaluate their performance and to support the design. Develop seismic designs and mitigations using novel seismic devices including base isolation and viscous dampers. Develop natural hazard risk modeling and assessment procedure to understand risk of building structures and their impacts on organizations. Provide guidance and strategic advice on risk mitigation measures for the client. Req’s Bachelor’s degr plus 1 yr exp.
