Job Description:

Join UDRI, national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers. UDRI is embarking on a new project involving developing a nonlinear feedback control law for fighter-type aircraft. The goal of this particular autonomy researcher position is to explore the potential of a novel approach intended to generate desired complex UAV maneuvers.


Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field

2. A minimum of three years of related experience is required for R2 level
3. Familiarity with Matlab
4. Ability to apply technical concepts discussed in academic papers or journals
5. Demonstrated work involving controls engineering concepts
6. Due to the nature of this position, U.S. Citizenship is required


Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

1. Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
2. Demonstrated, successful experience (academic or professional) programming in algorithm level languages such as Matlab/Simulink, Python or similar
3. Demonstrated experience performing high level research supporting DoD customers, including but not limited to AFRL
4. Research involving flight dynamics or multi-UAV control
5. Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
