Job Description:

Responsibilities
  • The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for mechanical engineering associated with pressure vessels and piping systems, including reactors, heat exchangers, boilers, heavy-walled vessels, and piping hydraulics, sizing, loading, supports, stress and expansion.
  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise and know-how at state-of-the-art levels regarding pressure vessels and piping systems so as to successfully complete the capital investment program consistent with company objectives and technical requirements during engineering/design, procurement / fabrication, construction and pre-commissioning of assigned contract package.
  • Responsible for advising the Engineering Manager, Construction Manager and Project Manager of deviations from mechanical (and piping) engineering, and/or installation standards, specifications, drawings, etc. industry codes and standards.
  • Provide the primary source of Mechanical Engineering (Fixed Equipment and / or Piping Systems) technical expertise and know-how that is available to project engineering managers to ensure complete appraisal of contractor performance during engineering/design, procurement /fabrication, field installation and pre-commissioning.
  • Relocation provided.

Requirements
  • The Mechanical Engineer will have a BSME and 10 + years of experience with chemical plant equipment design and maintenance.
  • Experience with plant start up and / or mega projects desired.
  • Strong experience with fixed equipment and piping.
  • Expertise to ensure effective monitoring and appraisal (quality assurance) of contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Applicable Laws, Regulations and Company engineering procedures and standards.
  • Willingness to live 12 mos in Germany during initial project phase.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
