Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Bridge and Structures Office in Tumwater, WA is currently seeking a Bridge Engineer 6 In-Training to serve as a Senior Lead Mechanical Inspector. In this role, you will be responsible for performing federally mandated mechanical inspections on all state-owned movable bridges/tunnels and other special structures as a Lead-Inspector. Other responsibilities include providing a detailed comprehensive report on the findings of the inspections, engineering support for regional maintenance, and manage consultants for in-depth, Blue Ribbon and special inspections. This position maintains the expertise for emergency response assessment and decision making, due to damage or disaster and will also manage emergency response of bridge/tunnel inspection teams as emergency coordinator.
Note: This is an in-training position that offers a career path and on-the-job training. This position allows you to progress through the Bridge Engineer field and achieve the goal class of a Bridge Engineer 6. Candidates will be considered as a Bridge Engineer 1, 2, 3, 4,5 or 6 level depending on their qualifications. The salary levels for each are:
Bridge Engineer 1: $57,324 - $77,028 annually, depending on qualifications
Bridge Engineer 2: $63,216 - $85,020 annually, depending on qualifications
Bridge Engineer 3: $69,756 - $93,840 annually, depending on qualifications
Bridge Engineer 4: $80,952 - $108,804 annually, depending on qualifications
Bridge Engineer 5: $89,292 - $120,132 annually, depending on qualifications
Bridge Engineer 6: $93,840 - $126,192 annually, depending on qualifications
